Malacañang has officially declared the 2024 population count of the Philippines by province, city/municipality, and barangay. This announcement follows the results from the 2024 Census of Population conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
The 2024 population count was formally approved through Proclamation No. 973, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on July 11. The PSA, working closely with the Presidential Communications Office, has been tasked with distributing copies of the census data to all relevant government agencies and offices.
President Marcos Endorses Nationwide Census Results
In the proclamation, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. stated, “Now, therefore, I, Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution and existing laws, do hereby declare as official for all purposes the results of the 2024 POPCEN, placing the total population of the Philippines as of 1 July 2024 at 112,729,484.” The document includes detailed population figures down to the barangay level.
