Search Continues for Missing Apayao Cop
TUGUEGARAO CITY — Patrolman Aaron Langab Blas, a 25-year-old policeman from Luna town, Apayao, has been reported missing since July 14. Local authorities and his family are actively searching for him after he disappeared during a training exercise.
Blas, assigned to the First Provincial Mobile Force Company of Apayao, was undergoing the Basic Internal Security Operations Course (BISOC) when he went missing. The 25-year-old cop was last seen at about 5:30 p.m. in the Zigzag area near Dam 2, Philex Mines, Ampucao, Itogon, Benguet, during a land navigation activity, a key part of his training.
Possible Accident Inside Mine Compound
Officials believe there is a chance Blas may have fallen into a manhole inside the Philex Mines compound, according to the provincial government. His family has appealed to miners and workers in the area to help with the search efforts.
