QUEZON CITY, Philippines — A 68-year-old doctor was found dead with multiple stab wounds inside an abandoned SUV along Mindanao Avenue Extension in Barangay Pasong Putik, according to a report by Jun Veneracion on “Saksi.”
Authorities believe the motive was robbery, as the victim’s wallet, mobile phone, and cash were missing.
Dashcam Footage Leads to Arrest
Quezon City police said the incident was first reported by a security guard, who noticed the vehicle left unattended.
Upon inspection, investigators retrieved dashcam footage showing a man entering the SUV shortly before 10 p.m. on Good Friday. Although the actual attack was not recorded, the footage helped identify the suspect, who was arrested in a follow-up operation.
Recovered from the suspect were the victim’s ATM card and a nail cutter, police said.
Suspect Denies Involvement
The unidentified suspect has denied the accusations, claiming that:
No ATM card was retrieved from him
The nail cutter was his personal item
He was mistaken for the real assailant
His wife and neighbors could vouch for his whereabouts
Despite his denial, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said the suspect underwent inquest proceedings and is facing charges of robbery with homicide.
Weapon Identified
According to police, the victim was killed using a pair of iris scissors, typically used in medical procedures.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members, though he was confirmed to be a licensed physician.
