Aboitiz Land Masonry and Construction Skills Program Kicks Off
Aboitiz Land Inc. and Aboitiz Foundation Inc. have partnered with TESDA – Batangas Provincial Office, Regional Training Calabarzon, the local government of San Juan, Batangas, and Cebu General Services Inc. to launch the Aboitiz Land masonry and construction skills program. This new corporate social responsibility initiative aims to equip local residents with job-ready construction skills, advancing the community’s workforce development.
The Aboitiz Land masonry and construction skills program highlights the company’s ongoing commitment to uplifting communities through upskilling and inclusive employment. Alongside Elevate AIDA, a program that empowers underserved Filipino women with digital skills in AI and data annotation, this new effort offers TESDA-certified training in masonry and construction painting. Graduates will gain direct access to employment opportunities within Aboitiz Land’s current and upcoming projects.
Inclusive Growth Through Practical Skills
Farrah Nina Mayol, Senior Assistant Vice President for Customer and Reputation Management at Aboitiz Land, shared the deeper goal behind the program: “This is inclusive growth in motion—where progress uplifts not just Aboitiz Land communities, but everyone around us,” she said. “Through this initiative, we aim to provide local residents in our host communities with practical skills in masonry and construction painting, helping them become part of the growing workforce that brings our developments to life.”
The collaboration pools the strengths of each partner. TESDA will conduct technical training and provide certification. The San Juan local government will identify and engage qualified beneficiaries. Cebu General Services Inc. will handle participant sourcing, training coordination, progress monitoring, and job placement. Meanwhile, Aboitiz Land and Aboitiz Foundation will finance the program and absorb qualified graduates into their construction teams.
Community Leaders Welcome New Opportunities
Mayor Ildebrando D. Salud of San Juan expressed hope for the program’s lasting benefits. “This is a big opportunity for our constituents—not just to learn new skills but to gain meaningful employment. We’re proud to collaborate with Aboitiz Land, TESDA, and Aboitiz Foundation,” the mayor noted.
The first group of trainees is set to begin courses in the coming months, with job placements following soon after. This initiative forms part of the Aboitiz Group’s broader mission to build resilient, empowered, and future-ready communities across the Philippines.
