MANILA, Philippines — Kapuso actors Allen Dizon and Jeric Gonzales paid tribute to National Artist for Film Nora Aunor, recalling her warmth, generosity, and professionalism on set.
In a report by Lhar Santiago on “24 Oras” Wednesday, the actors shared heartfelt memories of working with the late Superstar, who passed away on April 16 due to acute respiratory failure.
“Napaka-bait niyang katrabaho, napaka-professional, napaka-generous… every day, she gave money, food, and care. Nakaka-miss talaga,” Dizon said.
Gonzales, who starred in three films with Nora, became emotional, calling her a mother figure.
“Nanay ko talaga siya. Tinuring niya akong anak at naramdaman ko talaga ‘yung pagmamahal niya,” he said.
Final Goodbye to a Legend
Nora Aunor was laid to rest Tuesday at the Libingan ng mga Bayani following a state necrological service held at the Metropolitan Theater in Manila — a sendoff worthy of her stature as one of the country’s most beloved artists.
Dizon, Gonzales Star in Patriotic Film ‘Fatherland’
The two actors now appear together in Joel Lamangan’s newest film, “Fatherland,” which tells the story of a young man’s search for his father — and identity — in the Philippines.
“While looking for his father, he discovers what it truly means to be Filipino,” Dizon said of Iñigo Pascual’s role.
The film also stars Richard Yap, Kazel Kinouchi, Yasser Marta, and Abed Green, and is now showing in cinemas.
