Alvin Que Provides Vital Information to DOJ
Alvin Que turned over an affidavit containing vital information to the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Wednesday, May 21. The affidavit aims to support the prosecution of those responsible for his father Anson Que’s tragic death, according to sources familiar with the matter.
During the preliminary investigation concerning kidnap-for-ransom with homicide charges, Alvin’s lawyer emphasized his client’s innocence in the case. “Wala po,” the lawyer stated firmly, confirming that Alvin had no involvement in the crime.
Authorities from the Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), backed by officials from the Philippine National Police (PNP), have found no evidence linking Alvin Que to the incident. His lawyer added that Alvin’s active role in negotiating the ransom and requesting proof of life strongly indicates his non-involvement.
DOJ Investigation and Public Appeal
The DOJ panel began its preliminary investigation on April 28 after receiving complaints from the PNP regarding the killing of Anson Que and his driver, Armanie Pabillo. The panel is still reviewing a motion from the PNP to remove Alvin Que as a respondent in the case.
Three suspects—Filipinos Richard Austria and Reymart Catequista, along with Chinese national David Tan Liao—have been arrested and named respondents. Additionally, six other suspects remain at large, including Roxian Guo and five Chinese nationals identified by authorities.
The victims were last seen alive on March 29 in Valenzuela City. Their bodies were discovered nearly two weeks later in Rizal province, deepening the tragedy that has shaken the community.
The lawyer expressed that, despite the pain caused by this event, they remain committed to ensuring justice is served. He also urged the public with any relevant information to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
“This serious act is a stark reminder of the urgent need to address violence and impunity in our society,” he added.
