Authorities Seize P6.8M Shabu in Manila Buy-Bust Operation
Authorities successfully confiscated suspected shabu worth P6.8 million in a buy-bust operation in Sampaloc, Manila. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported that two individuals were arrested during the operation held on July 4, 2025.
The buy-bust took place in Barangay 478, Sampaloc, where agents recovered one kilogram of suspected crystal meth from the suspects. This significant seizure highlights ongoing efforts to combat illegal drugs in the city.
Suspects Detained for Dangerous Drugs Violation
The arrested suspects, identified only as “Yuan,” 21, and “Ellaine,” 35, are both residents of Sampaloc. They are currently detained at the PDEA detention center, awaiting formal charges for violating Republic Act 9165, known as the Dangerous Drugs Act.
Authorities continue to intensify operations targeting illegal drug activities in Manila, aiming to reduce the drug trade and promote public safety. Local officials noted the importance of community cooperation in these efforts.
