Basag-kotse Robbery Strikes Cavite Neighborhoods
CAVITE – Authorities recorded back-to-back basag-kotse robbery incidents over the weekend, unsettling local communities. In Trece Martires City, a resident from Barangay Cabuco returned home on June 8 only to find her back door slightly open and one of her car doors damaged. She also noticed her computer tablet was missing.
Upon inspecting CCTV footage, police discovered the suspect was none other than the victim’s neighbor. The footage showed the man committing the crime on the evening of June 7. This led to his swift identification and arrest. Local police identified the suspect as alias Christian. He is now in custody and faces robbery charges.
Second Basag-Kotse Incident in General Trias City
Meanwhile, in General Trias City, another basag-kotse robbery occurred. A vehicle parked near a home improvement store was targeted on the evening of June 8. When the driver and passenger returned, they found the car’s back windows shattered.
The thief stole several valuable items including a laptop, a computer tablet, a cellphone, and a wallet holding P70,000 in cash. Important documents, bank cards, and IDs were also taken. Authorities are currently investigating a person of interest who fled on a red and black motorcycle. Witnesses described the suspect wearing a black half-face helmet, black jacket, and carrying a gray backpack.
Police Continue Investigation
Local police stations in Trece Martires and General Trias are intensifying efforts to prevent further basag-kotse robberies. Officers urge residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.
