Swimming in Baseco Beach has been restricted as coliform in the water reached dangerous levels on Good Friday.
Authorities were seen guarding Baseco Beach in a post by GMA Integrated News’ Raffy Tima on X to make sure no one takes a dip in the water. Among those seen looking over Baseco Beach are personnel from the barangay and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
According to the Department of Health (DOH), swimming on the contaminated water of the Manila Bay may result in skin diseases, typhoid fever, and hepatitis.

At least 16 areas nationwide are expected to experience a dangerous level of heat index of up to 43 degrees Celsius on Good Friday, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
PAGASA warned that dangerous levels of heat index may cause heat cramps and heat exhaustion. Heat stroke is also probable with continued exposure to heat.
The DOH advised the public to limit time outdoors and to drink plenty of water amid the scorching heat. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
