Classes Suspended in Bicol Region Due to Crising
LEGAZPI CITY — Classes in several parts of the Bicol region remain suspended as continuous rains from Tropical Storm Crising persist. The ongoing downpour has forced local authorities to halt in-person learning to ensure the safety of students and staff.
In Albay province, towns such as Manito, Camalig, Daraga, Rapu-Rapu, Oas, Bacacay, Polangui, Jovellar, and Legazpi City have ordered localized suspension of classes at all levels in both public and private schools. Schools are encouraged to adopt alternative learning methods during this period.

Early Friday morning, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued a yellow rainfall warning. This warning indicates a high possibility of flooding in low-lying areas, urging residents to stay alert and prepared.
Moderate rains are also impacting nearby provinces including Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Masbate, Northern Samar, Romblon, and Marinduque. Local officials in these areas have also suspended classes to protect students from hazardous conditions.

Catanduanes Governor Patrick Alain Azanza confirmed that classes remain suspended in both public and private schools throughout Catanduanes and much of Camarines Sur. Meanwhile, Camarines Norte has halted classes in municipalities such as Daet, Capalonga, Basud, Paracale, and Jose Panganiban.
According to the 5 a.m. bulletin from Pagasa, Tropical Storm Crising was located 335 kilometers east of Echague, Isabela, moving northwest at 20 kilometers per hour. It carries maximum sustained winds of 65 kph with gusts reaching up to 80 kph.

Pagasa has raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 over Batanes, Cagayan including the Babuyan Islands, northern and eastern parts of Isabela, Apayao, northern Kalinga, northern Abra, Ilocos Norte, and northern Ilocos Sur. TCWS No. 1 is raised in adjacent provinces such as the rest of Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Abra, Benguet, Ilocos Sur, La Union, northern Pangasinan, northern Aurora, northeastern Nueva Ecija, Polillo Islands, Camarines Norte, Catanduanes, and northeastern Camarines Sur.
