BOC Secures 12 Luxury Vehicles Owned by Discaya Family
The Bureau of Customs (BOC) confirmed on Tuesday that it has secured all 12 luxury vehicles owned by the family of contractor Sarah Discaya, as covered by a Manila court search warrant. This operation marks a significant step in the bureau’s ongoing efforts to enforce customs regulations and ensure accountability.
Officials reported that the search warrant was issued by Branch 18 of the Manila Regional Trial Court, prompting a court-ordered search at the Pasig City headquarters of St. Gerrard Construction General Contractor and Development Corp., which is owned by the Discaya family.
Discovery and Seizure of Luxury Vehicles
During the operation, BOC’s Intelligence and Enforcement units initially uncovered two of the luxury vehicles: a 2024 Toyota LC300 3.3 V6 ZX AT SUV and a 2022 Maserati Levante Modena. Community members said these vehicles were found on-site as part of the thorough investigation.
Further into the operation, seven additional luxury vehicles were surrendered to the BOC. These include a 2023 Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Bentley Bentayga, Mercedes-Benz G-Class (Brabus G-Wagon), Mercedes AMG G 63 SUV 2022, Toyota Tundra 2022, Toyota Sequoia, and Cadillac Escalade ESV 2021. Local leaders noted that these vehicles are now secured at the compound of St. Gerrard Construction.
Vehicles Under Repair to Be Surrendered
Three remaining vehicles—a 2019 Mercedes-Benz G 500 SUV, a 2022 GMC Yukon Denali SUV, and a 2024 Lincoln Navigator L—are currently at authorized service centers undergoing repairs. Officials reported these will be handed over to the BOC once released from the service centers.
All 12 luxury vehicles have been officially sealed by Customs authorities and are under continuous guard by personnel from both the BOC and the Philippine Coast Guard, ensuring their safekeeping during the ongoing investigation.
BOC’s Commitment to Accountability
Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno emphasized that the Discaya family complied with the bureau’s directives. He reiterated the BOC’s determination to pursue accountability under the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
“With all 12 luxury vehicles now accounted for, the BOC continues to verify their importation records to determine compliance with customs laws. Should discrepancies be established, appropriate enforcement and legal actions will be undertaken,” officials reported.
Background and Senate Admission
On Monday, Sarah Discaya admitted before the Senate blue ribbon committee that she owns a total of 28 luxury cars. This revelation adds further context to the ongoing investigation concerning the proper declaration and importation of these vehicles.
Community members said the BOC remains vigilant in monitoring and verifying all assets linked to the case to uphold transparency and lawfulness.
