Body of Another Drowning Victim Recovered in Taliptip River
BULAKAN, Bulacan — The body of another drowning victim was found in the Taliptip River in this town on Thursday morning, marking a tragic second recovery this week. The 11-year-old boy’s lifeless form was discovered floating near the riverbank around 10 a.m.
Local fishermen and residents quickly retrieved the boy’s bloated remains. He was dressed in black shorts and a blue shirt when recovered. This marks the second body recovered in the Taliptip River in just two days.
Young Boy Drowned While Saving Friend
According to local disaster management officials, the victim reportedly came from Caloocan City. He drowned while trying to save a friend from the strong floodwaters that have recently swept through the area. Fortunately, the friend survived the ordeal.
Authorities initially had no identification for the boy. However, a few hours after the recovery, family members and rescuers from Caloocan City arrived to claim the body. Local leaders confirmed the identity after the reunion.
Another Victim Found Days Earlier
This discovery follows the recovery of another drowning victim in the same river just a day prior. On Wednesday, authorities found the body of a woman who was later identified as the owner and passenger of a sport utility vehicle. The vehicle had been swept away by floodwaters in Camarin, Caloocan City days earlier.
Floods have continued to pose serious risks in the region, causing multiple tragedies in recent days. Local disaster offices urge residents to remain vigilant and take precautions during this period of heavy rains.
