Student Arrested in Bohol Buy-Bust Operation
INABANGA, BOHOL – A Grade 10 student was arrested in a high-stakes buy-bust operation in Bohol, seizing one kilo of suspected shabu valued at P6.8 million. The incident, authorities said, took place in Inabanga town, marking a significant breakthrough in the fight against illegal drugs.
The 22-year-old suspect hails from Barangay Mantatao in Calape town but was caught in Barangay Tungod, Inabanga, late at night on July 17. Local officials revealed he is considered a high-value individual in the drug trade, operating mainly in Inabanga and nearby towns.
Surveillance and Arrest Details
Police had kept the suspect under close watch for two weeks before making the arrest. According to sources, the student could distribute about one kilo of shabu weekly. His supply reportedly came from a person known only as “Alias Tisoy.”
The operation disrupted ongoing distribution networks, a critical win for law enforcement in the province. “This arrest is a major blow to illegal drug operations in Bohol. The message is clear — your days are numbered,” stated Colonel Arnel Banzon, the provincial police director.
Ongoing Anti-Drug Campaigns
Lt. Col. Norman Nuez, spokesperson for the Bohol Police Provincial Office, assured the public that intensified anti-drug efforts would continue across the province. The police remain committed to dismantling drug syndicates and protecting communities from narcotics-related harms.
This arrest highlights the dangers and the reach of illegal drugs even among young individuals. Authorities urge residents to stay vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement to keep Bohol safe.
