Bulacan Police Arrest Trike Driver for Shabu Possession

Authorities in Bulacan apprehended a 63-year-old tricycle driver during a buy-bust operation for possession of suspected shabu with a street value of P1,360,000. The arrest took place on Wednesday evening, highlighting intensified efforts in the fight against illegal drugs.

Officials reported that the high-value suspect, known by the alias “Sacho,” hails from Calumpit, Bulacan. The Bulacan Police Provincial Office (Bulacan PPO) confirmed the arrest in their Thursday briefing, emphasizing the significance of the seizure.

Details of the Buy-Bust Operation

The Station Drug Enforcement Unit led the operation where Sacho was caught in possession of suspected shabu sachets. He allegedly carried one sachet intended for the poseur-buyer, along with three additional sachets and two plastic bags containing more of the suspected illegal substance.

According to community sources, the total weight of the suspected shabu amounted to 200 grams. This quantity represents a substantial haul for local drug enforcement efforts.

Additional Evidence Seized

Alongside the suspected shabu, officers confiscated boodle money, drug paraphernalia, and three empty sachets found in Sacho’s possession. These items further support the case against the suspect.

Facing Charges Under Dangerous Drugs Law

Sacho will face criminal charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. He is set to be presented before the Malolos, Bulacan Office of the Provincial Prosecutor to begin legal proceedings.

Police Commitment to Anti-Drug Campaign

Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. stated, “The capture of a high-value target such as alias ‘Sacho’ demonstrates our firm resolve to sustain the anti-illegal drug campaign in line with the directives of our acting [Philippine National Police] chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.”

Local leaders noted that this arrest signifies a strong message to drug syndicates operating in Bulacan, reinforcing the authorities’ dedication to curbing illegal drug trade.
