Bulacan Police Seize Over P800K Shabu in Series of Drug Busts
Authorities in Bulacan successfully confiscated more than P800,000 worth of shabu from 17 suspects during a series of anti-illegal drug operations on May 19 and 20. The organized efforts involved police units working closely with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) to dismantle drug activities across several barangays.
One notable operation led by local police at Myna Street, Camella Cielo, Barangay Kaybanban, resulted in the arrest of five suspects. Officials recovered 30 grams of shabu valued at P204,000, along with marked money used in the buy-bust. This operation was conducted under the coordination of law enforcement teams familiar with the area.
Multiple Arrests Across Barangays During Coordinated Operations
In Barangay Catmon, Sta. Maria, a joint buy-bust operation involving various intelligence units and PDEA arrested two drug suspects listed on the PNP-PDEA Unified Watchlist. These arrests yielded 48 grams of shabu worth P326,400, the marked money, and a Honda Click 125 motorcycle.
Meanwhile, three suspects, including a minor, were apprehended in Northville 3, Barangay Bayugo by local drug enforcement officers. Officials seized an estimated 26.8 grams of shabu valued at P182,240. The minor has been placed under the care of the City Social Welfare and Development Office for proper assistance.
Illegal Gambling and Additional Drug-Related Arrests
In a separate incident, two individuals were caught by police in Barangay Bagong Buhay I engaging in illegal gambling known locally as “Cara y Cruz.” Upon frisking, officers found suspected shabu worth P27,400, gambling coins, and other betting money.
Furthermore, a man was detained at a routine checkpoint in Barangay Tigbe, Norzagaray, for multiple violations, including possession of illegal drugs. Additional buy-bust operations conducted by police units in Malolos City, San Rafael, Marilao, and Obando resulted in four more arrests and confiscation of shabu worth P51,680.
Processing of Evidence and Legal Proceedings
All suspects and seized items were brought to the Bulacan Provincial Forensic Unit for thorough examination. Authorities are preparing criminal charges for violations of R.A. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, and will file cases in court accordingly.
