Peaceful Opening Classes in Cagayan Valley
CAGAYAN VALLEY – The opening classes in Cagayan Valley on Monday proceeded peacefully, local authorities confirmed. Police Regional Office-2 (PRO-2) Director Police Brig. Gen. Antonio P. Marallag Jr. highlighted the smooth and safe start to the school year across the region.
To ensure public safety and maintain order, the police strategically deployed 3,879 personnel in 2,418 public schools and 217 private institutions throughout Cagayan Valley. Their presence aimed to protect students, teachers, and staff during the important back-to-school period.
Robust Security Measures for Safe Learning
Eighty-eight Police Assistance Desks (PADs) were set up in key school zones and major transport hubs. These desks served as help points for students and parents alike. Additionally, mobile and foot patrols were actively conducted through close coordination with local government units and educational institutions.
Brig. Gen. Marallag praised the commitment and dedication of all PRO-2 personnel on duty. “The peaceful resumption of classes reflects the effectiveness of our deployment strategy and the strong collaboration among the PNP, schools, LGUs, and the community,” he said.
Continued Security Commitment Throughout School Year
Marallag assured the public that security operations will remain ongoing throughout the school year. This commitment aims to provide a safe environment where uninterrupted learning can thrive. “We are grateful to everyone who contributed to a safe and secure Balik-Eskwela 2025. Let us continue working together to protect our children’s future,” he added.
As students and educators settle into the new academic year, the combined efforts of law enforcement and the community promise a secure and conducive atmosphere for education.
