Calbayog Water, an operating unit of Manila Water Philippine Ventures, once again showcased its unwavering dedication to water quality and public health. The company successfully passed the annual on-the-spot audit of its water quality testing laboratory conducted by the Department of Health, with zero deficiencies noted. This accomplishment highlights Calbayog Water’s commitment to providing safe and clean water to the communities it serves.
This success reaffirms Calbayog Water’s full compliance with the Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water (PNSDW). Residents and stakeholders can remain confident in the continuous delivery of high-quality water in Calbayog City and surrounding areas.
Regional Impact of Calbayog Water Quality Testing Laboratory
As the only DOH-accredited Water Testing Laboratory in Samar province, Calbayog Water plays a vital role in guaranteeing water safety not only for its concessionaires but also for clients across the region. Since opening its laboratory to external partners in August 2022, it has extended services to neighboring provinces such as Leyte, thereby enhancing water safety efforts throughout Eastern Visayas.
The laboratory offers a wide array of water testing services aligned with national standards. These include Multiple Tube Fermentation Technique for detecting Total Coliforms and Fecal Coliforms, Enzyme Substrate Coliform Test – Rapid Test for Total Coliform and E. coli, and Heterotrophic Plate Count (HPC) for general microbiological assessment. These analyses are crucial for assessing microbiological water quality and ensuring its safety for human consumption.
Celebrating Consistency and Excellence in Water Safety
Entering its fourth year of operation, Calbayog Water’s laboratory stands as a testament to consistent compliance, operational excellence, and a strong commitment to public health. “This achievement reflects our continued commitment to ensuring that every drop of water we deliver is safe, clean, and meets the Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water,” said Fernan Barry Bohol, Regional Operations Department Head of Calbayog Water Company. “We remain steadfast in our mission to provide world-class service to our community.”
