Call Center Staff Arrested for Selling Stolen Motorcycle
A 27-year-old call center staff was caught and arrested after allegedly selling a stolen motorcycle, local authorities confirmed. The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) reported that the suspect was apprehended in Santa Cruz, Manila, following a carefully planned entrapment operation.
The incident unfolded late Tuesday afternoon near a fast-food restaurant at the intersection of Rizal Avenue and Blumentritt Street. According to police reports, the case began when the victim, a motortaxi rider affiliated with Angkas, spotted his missing motorcycle listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace.
Recovery of Stolen Motorcycle and Evidence
The victim recognized the motorcycle’s unique features and immediately informed the police. His black Honda FS150FL had been stolen on July 27, 2025, from outside his home in Bacood, Santa Mesa. Authorities quickly mobilized to intercept the suspect during the online transaction.
Police successfully recovered the stolen motorcycle, confirming the engine and chassis numbers matched the victim’s registration. They also seized the suspect’s cellphone, which was used to negotiate the sale through the online platform.
Legal Charges and Investigation
The suspect now faces charges for violating Presidential Decree No. 1612, known as the Anti-Fencing Law, alongside the Cybercrime Prevention Act or Republic Act 10175. Fencing, the illegal trading of stolen goods, remains a serious offense under Philippine law.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the case to determine if the suspect is linked to a larger network involved in motorcycle theft and illegal sales. Community leaders have expressed their support for swift justice to prevent similar crimes in the future.
