Caraga Region Police Arrest 1,269 Fugitives in Manhunt
BUTUAN CITY – The Police Regional Office in Caraga reported the arrest of 1,269 fugitives during intensified manhunt operations from January to May this year. The focused efforts on fugitive apprehension have led to significant progress in the region’s law enforcement activities.
According to PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano, among those arrested, 266 were classified as the most wanted persons in the Caraga region. This underlines the police force’s commitment to prioritize high-profile targets during their operations.
Arrests by Province Highlight Focused Police Efforts
The Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office led the arrest tally with 331 fugitives caught. It was followed closely by the Surigao del Norte PPO with 277 arrests, and the Agusan del Sur PPO with 241. Meanwhile, the Butuan City Police Office apprehended 235 fugitives, the Agusan del Norte PPO arrested 161, and the Dinagat Islands PPO accounted for 24 arrests.
These numbers reflect the coordinated efforts across the Caraga region, showcasing the police’s dedication to executing warrants and capturing those evading justice.
Ongoing Operations and Future Efforts
Director Abrahano emphasized that more arrests are expected as the police intensify their implementation of warrants of arrest. This effort follows directives from the Philippine National Police chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III, aiming to sustain the momentum in law enforcement.
On June 2 alone, various units and stations under PRO-13 arrested an additional 14 wanted individuals, demonstrating the continuous and dynamic nature of the manhunt operations.
The police remain vigilant and committed to ensuring public safety by targeting fugitives and persons of interest throughout the Caraga region.
