Carlos Yulo Shines in Senior Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships
Carlos Yulo showed why he is the reigning Olympic champion by clinching his fourth straight gold medal in the floor exercise at the 12th Senior Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in Jecheon, South Korea on June 7. The Filipino gymnast amazed everyone with a flawless and highly difficult routine, scoring 14.600 points.
At 25 years old, Yulo delivered a breathtaking performance that combined a 5.7 degree of difficulty with an impressive execution score of 8.8. His skill and precision captivated both the crowd and the judges, highlighting his dominance in the floor exercise event.
Strong Competition from Kazakhstan and Host Nation
Kazakhstan’s Milad Karimi, one of Yulo’s toughest rivals, earned the silver medal for the second consecutive time with a score of 14.400. Meanwhile, hometown favorite Moon Geonyoung surprised spectators by capturing the bronze medal with a 14.033 score despite a 0.300 penalty for stepping outside the mat.
Before securing gold in the floor exercise, Yulo also took home the bronze medal in the individual all-around competition. His relentless pursuit of excellence continues as he aims for another gold in the rings event, which was underway at press time.

Yulo is also set to compete in the vault, parallel bars, and horizontal bar finals scheduled for June 8. His teammate, John Ivan Cruz, is also competing in the vault event, representing the Philippines in multiple disciplines.
