Six Suspected Drug Traffickers Arrested in Cavite
Police in Cavite province arrested six suspected drug traffickers over the weekend, seizing more than P20.9 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) along with three firearms, sources said. These recent operations highlight intensified efforts to curb illegal drug trade in the region.
The Police Regional Office 4A detailed that anti-narcotics agents in Bacoor City apprehended three suspects named only as “Dave,” “Cho,” and “Sha” early Sunday morning. The arrests followed a drug deal where the suspects sold P7,000 worth of shabu to an undercover officer in Barangay Zapote 3.
Massive Drug Seizure and Firearms Confiscated
Authorities recovered three transparent plastic bags and a heat-sealed sachet containing approximately three kilos of suspected shabu, valued at P20.4 million according to the Dangerous Drugs Board’s pricing. Alongside the drugs, police confiscated a loaded .45 caliber pistol with three bullets, a .38 caliber gun with two bullets, and a mobile phone set for further investigation.
Vehicles linked to the suspects, including a Ford Explorer and a Honda Civic, were also impounded as part of the crackdown. The suspects fall under the high-value individual (HVI) category, a label applied to financers, traffickers, manufacturers, importers, or leaders of drug syndicates.
Illegal Gambling and Additional Drug Arrests
Earlier on Saturday at 10:53 p.m., local officers caught two men allegedly involved in “cara y cruz” (coin toss), a form of illegal gambling in Barangay Molino 3. During a frisk, one suspect identified as “Rene” was found carrying a knot-tied plastic bag with 25 grams of shabu valued at P170,000, along with an illegal .45 caliber pistol loaded with three bullets.
In another operation in Dasmariñas City, police arrested “Musly,” another HVI, alongside his street pusher associate “Jairyll” in Barangay Sta. Fe at around 9:57 a.m. Saturday. The officers seized six sachets of suspected shabu weighing 50 grams, worth approximately P340,000.
All those arrested remain in police custody and face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and illegal possession of firearms. These arrests mark a significant blow to the illegal drug trade in Cavite.
