Celebrities Win Big VotePH2025 in Senatorial Race

Many celebrities joined the 2025 midterm elections, and several succeeded in their political pursuits. Just hours after voting precincts closed nationwide on May 12, 2025, election results started coming in. Based on unofficial Comelec tallies at 1:38 a.m. on May 13, broadcast journalist Erwin Tulfo, TV host and former actor Tito Sotto, and action star Lito Lapid ranked within the Top 12 of the senatorial race.

Meanwhile, others like Erwin’s brother Ben Tulfo, actor-politician Bong Revilla, singer Jimmy Bondoc, boxing legend Manny Pacquiao, veteran actor Phillip Salvador, and TV host Willie Revillame did not make it to the Magic 12.

Congressional Victories Mark Celebrities Win Big VotePH2025

In the race for congressman, actors Richard Gomez (Leyte’s 4th district), Arjo Atayde (Quezon City’s 1st district), and Jolo Revilla (Cavite’s 1st district) secured their seats. Actress Lani Mercado won in Cavite’s 2nd district, former PBA player and coach Franz Pumaren claimed Quezon City’s 3rd district, and former TV host Cutie del Mar triumphed in Cebu City’s 1st district. Ryan Christian Recto, son of Vilma Santos and Ralph Recto, also emerged victorious in Batangas’s 6th district.

Governors and Mayors Join Celebrities Win Big VotePH2025

The Star for All Seasons, Vilma Santos, celebrated a triumphant return as Batangas governor. Daniel Fernando and Alex Castro also won as governor and vice governor of Bulacan, respectively. Former ABS-CBN news reporter Sol Aragones secured the governorship of Laguna.

Among mayoral and vice mayoral winners were well-known personalities: Isko Moreno as Manila’s mayor, Lucy Torres-Gomez as mayor of Ormoc City, and former PBA player Vergel Meneses in Bulacan. Vico Sotto, son of Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes, was proclaimed for a third term as Pasig City mayor, while his running mate Dodot Jaworski, Mikee Cojuangco’s husband and former PBA player, won as vice mayor. Gian Sotto, Vico’s cousin, was also reelected as Quezon City’s vice mayor.

Actor ER Ejercito won as mayor of Pagsanjan, Laguna, but his assumption of office remains uncertain following a Supreme Court graft conviction.

Councilor Seats and Board Member Wins

At the city council level, Angelu de Leon returned to the Pasig City council representing the 2nd district, while actor and former “Survivor Philippines” castaway Kiko Rustia won in the 1st district. Aiko Melendez and Alfred Vargas secured council seats in Quezon City’s 5th district. Joaquin Domagoso, son of Isko Moreno, led the council race in Manila’s 1st district, with veteran actor Lou Veloso winning in the 6th district.

Former PBA players James Yap and Don Allado reclaimed their San Juan council seats in the 1st and 2nd districts, respectively, alongside actor Ervic Vijandre in the 1st district. Meanwhile, JC Parker and Maricel Morales triumphed in Angeles City, Pampanga, and Cai Cortez won in Taytay, Rizal.

For board members, victories went to Jestoni Alarcon (Rizal 1st district), Angelica Jones (Laguna 3rd district), Arron Villaflor (Tarlac 2nd district), and Jason Abalos (Nueva Ecija 2nd district).
