Charo Santos and Dingdong Dantes Discuss Intimate Scenes Early in Film
Actors Charo Santos and Dingdong Dantes recently addressed questions about intimate scenes in their first collaboration, the romantic film “Only We Know.” During a press event at ABS-CBN in Quezon City, the two stars laughed and smiled when asked if the movie contained intimate moments.
Dingdong, curious about the media’s definition, specifically mentioned kissing scenes. He playfully responded, “Only we know,” which sparked laughter among reporters. Charo then shared, “Depende sa context. Kailangan nasa context ng kwento.” (It depends on the context. It has to be in the context of the story.)
When pressed further, the director Irene Villamor simply replied, “Secret,” keeping the mystery alive.
Mutual Respect and Admiration Before Filming
Charo described Dingdong as a highly skilled actor. She recalled, “He’s a very good actor. Hindi ko pa sya nakasama ever. Nasa ABS-CBN ako nasa GMA siya. But I saw him grow and mature as an actor. Mas nakilala ko talaga ang galing niya when he appeared in several Star Cinema movies.” She also shared how their first meeting for a different project didn’t push through, but later they reunited for this film.
Dingdong, on the other hand, recognized Charo’s influential role in the industry. “She’s an industry leader behind the success of a broadcast company. She is also the success behind the talent of our actors.” He admitted, “Inamin ko naman sa kanya na may konting takot ako kasi siyempre it was like going to an audition of my life.” Yet, Charo’s support helped him overcome fear. “Her presence is calming and compelling. Nagawa ko yung dapat dawin and I am grateful,” he said.
Positive Reactions to “Only We Know”
The love story portrayed by Charo and Dingdong in “Only We Know” has captivated many, including celebrities, filmmakers, and entertainment journalists. An advanced screening drew praise for its heartfelt narrative, stunning cinematography, and the undeniable chemistry between the leads.
Celebrities like Vice Ganda and Eugene Domingo found the film deeply touching. Vice shared, “It was a beautiful story. Nakakatuwa, masaya, then eventually malungkot na ako. Ang dami kong na-realize and it made me cry.” Meanwhile, Eugene remarked, “Napakaganda niyang pelikula. This film will stay long in our minds and our memories because you know the people in this film.”
Award-winning director Mae Cruz-Alviar and other filmmakers applauded the movie’s subtle yet powerful depiction of love. “The beauty is in its simplicity. It’s in the quiet moments, the tension. Doon ramdam na ramdam at nag-uumapaw,” she noted.
Popular entertainment blog LionHeartTV.net described the film as a “love letter to healing and second chances.” They highlighted the movie’s delicate approach to themes of love, loss, and emotional courage. “‘Only We Know’ is a rare gem – a film that understands the power of silence, the beauty of small moments, and the transformative magic of human connection,” the review said.
