KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato – A civil engineer was fatally shot, and his wife wounded during a violent gun attack inside a subdivision early Wednesday morning, August 13, local officials reported. The shocking incident unfolded within a peaceful neighborhood, stirring alarm among residents.

Authorities identified the victims as Engineer Kezzie Junsan, 48, and his wife Maria, 45, both residents of Barangay San Roque, community members said. The couple had just arrived at their second home in Doña Lourdes Subdivision, Barangay Zone 2, at approximately 7:45 a.m.
According to police sources, as Engineer Junsan stepped out of his black Toyota Fortuner (plate number LAA-5511) to open the gate, two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle approached. One of the assailants fired multiple shots, hitting the engineer several times in the head and body. His wife, seated in the front passenger seat, was also struck by stray bullets.

Koronadal City police director, Lt. Col. Peter Pinalgan Jr., condemned the violent act and confirmed that an investigation is ongoing to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. “We are diligently working to bring those responsible to justice,” he said.
Police reported that the suspects fled swiftly toward Balmores Street, escaping in an unknown direction. Scene of the Crime operatives recovered eight empty .45-caliber pistol shells at the crime scene, providing crucial evidence for the investigation.
