Cloudy Skies and Rain Showers Expected Tuesday
Cloudy skies and a high chance of rain showers are forecast across many parts of the Philippines this Tuesday due to the easterlies, warm winds blowing from the Pacific Ocean, officials reported. These weather conditions are expected to affect various regions, bringing significant cloud cover and rainfall throughout the day.
According to weather experts, the easterlies will cause cloudy skies with heavy chances of rain showers in Quezon, the Bicol region, and Mimaropa, which includes Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan. This pattern is typical during this season as moisture-laden winds from the Pacific push inland.
Clear but Humid in Metro Manila and Luzon
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon are expected to experience mostly clear weather. However, community members noted that heat and humidity will rise, especially from noon to afternoon. Local leaders also warned of possible localized thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening hours, which residents should prepare for.
Visayas and Mindanao Weather Update
The easterlies will also bring cloudy skies with a high chance of rain showers in the entire Visayas, Palawan, the Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and the Caraga region, sources said. These areas should brace for wet conditions throughout the day.
On the other hand, the rest of Mindanao is expected to have generally fair weather. Still, officials reported the possibility of localized thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, so vigilance remains necessary.
Tropical Depression Huaning Moving Out
Tropical depression Huaning currently poses no direct threat to any part of the country. Forecasters confirmed that it is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Tuesday morning, easing concerns for the affected regions.
Low-Pressure Area Outside PAR
Aside from Huaning, authorities are closely monitoring a low-pressure area (LPA) located approximately 1,810 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas. This system carries a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, officials reported.
“Posible po lumapit ito dito sa main northern Luzon at magdadala rin po ito ng mga pag-ulan lalo na po sa eastern section ng Luzon,” a meteorological expert said. “It is possible that it will approach main northern Luzon and it will also bring rains, especially in the eastern section of Luzon.”
Residents in northern Luzon and eastern parts of the region should stay updated and prepare for potential rain brought by this developing system.
