Comelec Responds to Eleksyon 2025 Vote Discrepancies
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) recently raised concerns about possible misinformation circulating over the Eleksyon 2025 votes being tallied and reported before dawn. This early reporting has caused confusion due to discrepancies in the numbers presented to the public.
Comelec Chairman George Garcia emphasized the importance of knowing the source of these figures. Sino po ba ang naglalabas?” he asked, urging citizens to question where the data originates.
Understanding the Eleksyon 2025 Vote Transmission Process
Garcia explained how the vote results from each precinct are transmitted. Doon naipapadala ang result,” he said.
This means that the figures seen on the Comelec website come directly from the precincts, but they are still unofficial results. “Pero unofficial po ‘yan ah. Hindi po ‘yan official. Unofficial po ‘yan sa kasalukuyan,” Garcia clarified.
Why Do Vote Counts Differ Among Entities?
According to Garcia, there are four separate entities that receive the same data. However, not all of them report the full results; some present only partial information. “Pero hindi nangangahulugan na mali ang inilalabas po nila,” he noted, pointing out that differences in reporting do not necessarily mean the data is wrong.
Importantly, Comelec does not provide rankings of leading candidates.
Concerns Over Unverified Early Vote Reports
He urged the public to be cautious about unofficial early vote tallies. Garcia said.
