David Licauco Embraces Music with New Single I Think I Love You

David Licauco Ventures into Music with New Single

David Licauco, widely recognized as Pambansang Ginoo, has taken a bold step into the music world with the release of his debut single, “I Think I Love You,” under Universal Music Group. This exciting transition marks a new chapter in his career, where the actor and entrepreneur is focusing on expanding his artistic horizons.

During a recent interview in Quezon City, David expressed his excitement about this new journey. He shared, “I’ll be having mall shows. I’ll be doing TikTok. Wala sa plano ko ang maging actor, or maging businessman. I am the kind of guy who tries to be in the present moment. I try to stay in the moment and have my system in place. I don’t really sing, but everybody can sing.” His words reflect a grounded and open approach as he embraces his musical path.

Focusing on Career Growth and Personal Development

David is dedicating much of his time and energy to advancing his career in music and entertainment. He is actively seeking new opportunities and challenges, aiming to sharpen his skills and grow professionally. When asked about his personal life, particularly if he was ready to mingle again, David remained candid. “I’m just focusing on my career. Whatever happens, it happens. Before I tend to control things, so kung ano yung dumating at kung may dumating man, I’ll just let things be,” he said during the launch event for his debut single.

At 30 years old, David recently went through a heartbreak and chooses to prioritize work for now. “I just came from a heartbreak. So focus lang talaga ako sa work muna. Whatever happens, it happens,” he added. He values the freedom and independence that come with being single, using this time to explore his interests and personal growth.

Looking Ahead: Marriage and Life Goals

Despite his current focus on career, David shared a hopeful vision for the future. He envisions settling down and building a life with a partner who shares his dreams and aspirations. “Sabi ko noon dapat pag 27 years old na ako, dapat kasal na ako. Pero ngayon halos lahat ng kaibigan ko may asawa na at wala na akong kasama. But right now, I just enjoy this. Once you’re married, this will lessen. Alam naman natin yun na sa Philippine showbiz, nawawala yung mga gagawin. Siyempre busy na sila sa anak,” he explained.

Promoting His Music and Future Plans

In the coming days, David plans to keep busy promoting “I Think I Love You.” His team is already working on a follow-up single, and he looks forward to recording more music. In addition to performing, he is trying his hand at songwriting.

When asked about his current favorite songs, David mentioned “Multo” by Cup of Joe, and both “Kung Wala Ka” and “Blue Sky” by Hale. “Puro OPM ang gusto kong pakinggan ngayon,” he said, showing his appreciation for Original Pilipino Music.

The Success of I Think I Love You

Written by Luke April Isnani and Ivo Impreso, “I Think I Love You” is an upbeat and catchy track about realizing strong feelings for someone, a theme many listeners can relate to. On May 15, just before the song’s release, David engaged with fans through a TikTok live session at Lujo Bar in Poblacion. At midnight, the DJ played the single, and David celebrated the moment with his supporters.

The song quickly gained traction online, reaching number five on the iTunes Philippines Top Songs chart on its release day and standing out as the only OPM track in the top five. Fans have embraced the single enthusiastically, creating fan edits featuring David and his onscreen partner Barbie Forteza on TikTok. Many have also crafted dance routines, including popular TikTok choreographer Miko Yanson, who is known for viral dance creations.

David Licauco’s entry into music with “I Think I Love You” marks a promising start, blending his passion and talent as he continues to evolve in the entertainment industry.
