DepEd logs 160 election-related concerns during Eleksyon 2025
The Department of Education (DepEd) reported receiving 160 election-related concerns from its field offices as of Monday afternoon. These issues emerged during the ongoing 2025 national and local elections.
Most of the concerns involved problems with automated counting machines (ACMs), missing voter names, and health issues affecting teachers and personnel serving as poll workers. To address these matters promptly, DepEd is coordinating closely with the Commission on Elections (Comelec), Philippine National Police (PNP), and other partner agencies.
“Ang mga ulat ay kaagad na tinutugunan sa koordinasyon ng Comelec, PNP, at iba pang mga katuwang na ahensya upang masiguro ang maayos, ligtas, at tapat na halalan,” the agency affirmed.
Ensuring a safe and honest Eleksyon 2025
Under the leadership of DepEd Undersecretary for Operations Malcolm Garma, the election task force maintains continuous communication with regional and division teams. Their goal is to respond swiftly to any issues affecting the welfare and safety of DepEd teachers and personnel performing election duties.
Earlier, the Comelec reported replacing at least 200 malfunctioning ACMs to keep the voting process smooth. Nationwide voting started early Monday, with senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women voting from 5 a.m., followed by all other registered voters at 7 a.m.
DepEd logs 160 election-related concerns among poll workers
Comelec estimates that a total of 758,549 poll workers are involved in the 2025 elections. Out of this number, 281,587 are DepEd personnel dedicated to ensuring the polls run efficiently and fairly.
