Devotees gather at Metro Manila Churches for Visita Iglesia

Several Filipinos started their Visita Iglesia early on Maundy Thursday in parts of Manila.

Visita Iglesia is a Lenten pilgrimage in which Catholics visit seven churches to pray and reflect. Some choose to visit 14 churches, symbolizing the Stations of the Cross.

Previously, local government units in Metro Manila released their suggested routes for the Catholic faithful who will be observing Visita Iglesia this Lenten season.

The Manila Public Information Center also invited Catholics to observe the Holy Week through the Pilgrim of Hope churches in the Archdiocese of Manila.

”Strengthen your faith, reflect on Christ’s sacrifice, and experience the beauty of our sacred heritage this Holy Week,” it said. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
