Direct Flights Between Manila and Delhi Boost Tourism

Direct Flights Between Manila and Delhi Announced

Air India has announced that direct flights between Manila and Delhi will begin on October 1 this year. This new route aims to strengthen tourism, trade, and cultural ties between the Philippines and India. The direct flights between Manila and Delhi will run five times a week, opening exciting opportunities for travelers and businesses alike.

The Indian Embassy in Manila welcomed the announcement, highlighting its positive impact. “The direct flight would provide strong impetus to tourism, business, and people to people contacts between the two countries,” the embassy shared on its social media page.

Flight Details and Services Offered

Air India stated that flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays using the A321neo jets. These aircraft feature a three-class cabin layout, giving passengers options in Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class.

By launching this new route, Air India becomes the sole airline offering non-stop flights between India and the Philippines. This seamless connection through Delhi’s hub is expected to boost tourism, trade, and cultural exchange even further, according to local sources.

Visa-Free Entry Enhances Travel

Recently, the Philippines introduced visa-free entry for Indian tourists for up to 15 days. This move will make it easier for Indians keen to explore popular destinations such as Boracay’s white-sand beaches, Palawan’s stunning landscapes, and Cebu’s historic sites.

Campbell Wilson, Air India’s CEO and managing director, commented: “The introduction of our Delhi-Manila route is a yet another step in our mission to connect India with more of the world, non-stop. With Indian tourists among the highest spenders globally, the new entry rules for Indian tourists are a shot in the arm to boost tourism to the Philippines.”

He added that this new service will foster cultural and economic collaboration between the two nations while showcasing the new Air India brand to a wider audience.

Tourism Potential and Booking Information

Air India also emphasized the Philippines’ appeal with its over 7,000 islands, seeing great tourism potential for Indian travelers.

Bookings for the new Delhi-Manila flights are now available through Air India’s website, mobile app, airport ticketing offices, contact centers, and authorized travel agencies.
