DOJ Appeals for Information on House Official Killing
The Department of Justice (DOJ) has urgently called on anyone with information regarding the killing of a House of Representatives official to come forward. Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin C. Remulla emphasized that no detail is too small, as even the tiniest clue could be vital in solving the case.
The DOJ’s appeal follows the tragic shooting of Mauricio “Morrie” Pulhin, 63, who served as the chief of technical staff for the House Committee on Ways and Means. Pulhin was fatally shot by unidentified gunmen during his daughter’s birthday celebration in Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City, on June 15.
DOJ’s Firm Stand on the Murder Investigation
Secretary Remulla condemned the killing, assuring the public that the DOJ is fully committed to pursuing those responsible. “This Department has the full capability and unyielding resolve to pursue and capture those responsible,” he declared. The DOJ is working closely with the Philippine National Police and the National Bureau of Investigation to track down the perpetrators.
He further stressed that the DOJ takes cases involving public servants very seriously. The department remains focused on ensuring justice for Pulhin and safeguarding the integrity of those serving the public.
Local sources noted the ongoing collaboration among law enforcement agencies to expedite the investigation. Authorities are urging witnesses or anyone with leads to come forward immediately to aid the process.
