DPWH Anti-Graft Committee to Be Dissolved
Newly appointed Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon announced on Tuesday that the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will abolish the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Committee. This committee, established by former Secretary Manuel Bonoan, was tasked with investigating alleged irregularities within the department.
“The task force or committee that was set up within the DPWH to investigate—I’m sorry, but I don’t agree with it. So today, I’m going to dissolve it. I’m sorry but I have to dissolve it today,” Dizon said in a radio interview. Officials reported that this decision comes as part of a broader effort to reorganize the department’s approach to internal investigations.
