DPWH Resumes Weekend Road Repairs in Metro Manila
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will restart its weekend road repairs in key parts of Metro Manila starting this Friday evening. These efforts aim to improve road conditions in two major cities, ensuring safer and smoother travel for motorists.
According to sources, the road reblocking works will commence at 11 p.m. Friday and are scheduled to finish by 5 a.m. Monday. The projects will affect selected stretches of MacArthur Highway in Valenzuela City and the northbound lane of C5 Road in Taguig City.
Specific Areas Under Repair
In Valenzuela City, repair operations will cover several crucial segments: from the end of the Malinta Bridge to Governor I. Santiago Street (northbound); BDO Dalandan to Wilcon Dalandan (southbound); First Metro Bus Express Transport to NFA/ACA Road (northbound); and Flicker Tech to San Andres II Street (northbound).
Meanwhile, in Taguig City, works will focus on the northbound portion of C5 Road, including the stretch from East Service Road to the South Luzon Expressway (SLEx) toll area.
Traffic Advisories and Motorist Guidance
Motorists are strongly advised to use alternative lanes or routes during the repair period, as partial lane closures are necessary for the ongoing projects. The DPWH’s National Capital Region District Engineering Offices have committed to reopening closed sections promptly once repairs are complete.
Local officials emphasized the importance of these weekend road repairs for long-term infrastructure health despite the temporary inconvenience. “We urge the public to plan their trips accordingly and cooperate with traffic management during this period,” sources said.
