DOTr Orders Driver’s License Lifetime Cancellation
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has taken a firm stance by ordering the lifetime cancellation of a driver’s license after a motorist was caught counterflowing on Skyway early Saturday morning. The incident, captured clearly on CCTV, revealed the driver dangerously overtaking vehicles in the opposite lane of Skyway Northbound around 3:32 a.m.
This driver’s reckless action endangered many motorists, prompting DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon to demand a permanent revocation of the driver’s license. “This driver’s license cannot be suspended because it is clear from the CCTV footage that he put the lives of the drivers of the vehicles he was on the other side of in danger,” Dizon stated.
Strict Measures to Prevent Reckless Driving
Secretary Dizon emphasized that a lifetime cancellation is necessary to prevent any recurrence of such hazardous behavior. “I have ordered that the driver’s license of this reckless driver be revoked so that his reckless driving will not be repeated,” he added firmly.
The DOTr also urges the public to remain vigilant and promptly report similar incidents. This proactive approach helps the agency respond swiftly and ensure safer roads for everyone.
