DSWD Prepares 3 Million Food Packs Ahead of Crising
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has secured over three million boxes of food packs nationwide as the country prepares for the impact of tropical depression Crising. The agency is coordinating closely with local governments to ensure timely delivery of relief supplies to vulnerable areas.
DSWD Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao said their field offices are actively working with local government units in Palawan, Camiguin, Southern Leyte, Surigao del Norte, and Dinagat Islands. These regions are expected to experience rainfall caused by Crising.
“Our agency Field Offices are in tight coordination with LGUs here in Palawan, Camiguin, Southern Leyte, Surigao del Norte, and Dinagat Islands since rainfall is expected in these areas due to Tropical Depression Crising. Rest assured that the agency’s stockpiles are not only abundant but also closest to communities that will need it,” Dumlao said.
Relief Supplies and Support Materials Ready
In addition to food packs, DSWD has allocated P773 million worth of family kits, hygiene items, kitchen sets, sleeping kits, water containers, and shelter materials.
