Eleksyon 2025 Voting Delays Affect Some Polling Centers
On Monday, several polling centers experienced voting delays during Eleksyon 2025. The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that as regular voting hours began, not all precincts were able to start casting ballots on time.
PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo said that by 7:09 a.m., only 34,494 polling centers or 91.92% were actively voting. The remaining precincts faced setbacks due to technical problems and power outages.
Early Voting Hours for Special Groups
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) set early voting hours from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. specifically for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women. This was intended to give them a smoother voting experience before the regular voting period.
Regular voting hours officially started from 7 a.m. and will continue until 7 p.m. nationwide. Despite the hiccups, election officials assure the public that they are working to resolve issues promptly.
