An elementary school principal was shot and wounded in Rajah Buayan, Maguindanao del Sur on Tuesday morning. Sources said Alamansa Ambiton, the principal of Sapakan Central Elementary School, became the victim of a shooting attack.

Authorities reported the incident happened while the principal was heading to a nearby store for lunch outside the school grounds. Suddenly, gunmen on a motorcycle appeared and opened fire, injuring Ambiton.
Despite sustaining bullet wounds, Ambiton managed to seek help from local police and was promptly rushed to a hospital for treatment. Local leaders noted his quick thinking likely saved his life.
