Eleven Injured in Jeepney Crash in Talisay City
Eleven people, including five minors, sustained injuries when a passenger jeepney crashed in Sitio Mambucano, Barangay Cabatangan, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, on the morning of May 19. Reports indicate the jeepney experienced mechanical trouble while ascending a curved road, which led to the accident.
According to sources familiar with the situation, the 49-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle as it moved backward and eventually tipped onto its side. The driver reportedly failed to shift correctly from second to first gear during the climb, causing the mishap.

All passengers received first aid at the scene. Three victims were transported to a nearby hospital but were later discharged after treatment. Fortunately, the driver escaped without injuries and is currently in police custody as authorities await the victims’ decision on filing charges.
