A former traffic enforcer met a brutal end in Mariveles, Bataan last Thursday evening. The 52-year-old victim was stabbed to death by a group of men in a chilling attack.
The victim’s widow revealed that her husband had just gone downstairs to buy food when some suspicious men started trailing him. “Bumili siya ng ulam sa baba. May mga aaligid-aligid daw sa kanya,” she shared, hinting at the eerie atmosphere that unfolded.
The victim’s son, an eyewitness to the violent incident, recounted a tense argument that escalated moments before the fatal stabbing. “Minura-mura daw siya ng mga nakaalitan namin, sabi ng kapatid kong isa. Pagkatapos, bumalik ang tatay ko sa labas. Sinundan ko siya para maputol ang away… Nagka-enkwentruhan na… Pinagsasaksak na po kami,” he said, his words painting a grim picture of the sudden violence.
Initially, they faced off against just two men. But the situation quickly spiraled out of control when more attackers appeared.
“Tatay ko may dala-dala ding kutsilyo. Sa akin, may itak din ako, panakot lang,” the son added, revealing that they were somewhat prepared but still caught off guard by the ferocity of the assault.
Authorities have managed to apprehend one suspect so far. The rest of the men involved remain at large, raising urgent questions about safety and justice in the community.
Local officials and police continue their investigations as the search for the other suspects intensifies. The haunting tragedy leaves a family mourning and a town demanding answers.
