Fair weather is expected nationwide on Monday, but the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has indicated that the Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 may be raised in some parts of extreme northern Luzon. This precaution is due to Severe Tropical Storm Gorio, internationally known as Podul.
According to the 4:00 a.m. update, the center of Gorio was located approximately 1,305 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon. The storm is packing maximum sustained winds of 110 kilometers per hour near its center, with gusts reaching up to 135 kilometers per hour, officials reported.
