Fair Weather in Luzon and Rain in Visayas, Mindanao
Fair weather in Luzon is expected to prevail, while Visayas and Mindanao may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with possible rain on Monday, officials reported. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) forecast highlighted these conditions early Monday.
According to sources, the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, currently brings scattered rain showers to western Luzon. Despite this, fair weather is anticipated in the western parts of Luzon, including the Ilocos Region, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands.
Weather Details Across Luzon
Community members noted that Luzon will face hot and humid conditions from morning until noon. However, overcast skies with thunderstorms are likely to develop during the afternoon hours. This pattern is expected to continue throughout the day.
In addition, areas such as Puerto Princesa and the Kalayaan Islands will experience similar weather: hot and humid mornings with chances of thunderstorms by evening. Local leaders emphasized vigilance in these regions.
Conditions in Visayas and Mindanao
Visayas and Mindanao will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies, accompanied by localized thunderstorms, sources said. Residents in these areas should prepare for intermittent rain and possible thunderstorm activity.
No gale warnings have been issued for any seaboards in the country, officials confirmed, indicating relatively calm sea conditions for now.

Severe Tropical Storm Podul Nears Philippine Area
Severe tropical storm Podul is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Sunday night or early Monday morning, local leaders reported. Once inside the PAR, this storm will be named “Goryo,” marking the second tropical cyclone to approach the country this month.
Podul may intensify into a typhoon as it moves westward at 20 kilometers per hour. As of 3 p.m. Monday, satellite data showed Podul located 1,595 kilometers east of Extreme Northern Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 110 kph and gusts of the same speed.
Officials said the storm is forecast to shift northward or west-northwestward by Tuesday, potentially exiting the PAR by Wednesday night or Thursday morning. They cautioned that if Podul deviates from its current path, strong winds could affect parts of Batanes.
Residents are advised to stay updated and prepare for possible impacts as the situation develops.
