Father and Son Arrested for Murder in Sultan Kudarat
Authorities in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat, have arrested a father and his son on Tuesday, suspected of killing a police officer in Barangay Kalawag II before dawn that same day. The arrest took place shortly after lunchtime, more than ten hours following the incident.
Police officials disclosed that the suspects, both businessmen, were captured in Polomolok, South Cotabato, during a follow-up operation. The victim, Police Executive Master Sgt. Geoffrey Angub, 46, was found dead after being shot. Angub, a resident of Barangay Kalawag, served at the Bagumbayan municipal police station.
Details of the Arrest and Motive
The suspects, identified as Vincent Dalanon Sr., 54, and his 29-year-old son who shares his name, surrendered to authorities in Barangay Sulit. Police sources said the initial investigation suggests a personal grudge as the motive for the killing, although they did not provide further details.
Both men are currently held at the Isulan police detention center, awaiting formal charges. Law enforcement officers continue their inquiry to uncover additional information about the case.
