Survey Highlights Filipino Expectations for Sara Duterte
Reports indicate that House Deputy Majority Leader from La Union’s 1st district has interpreted the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey results concerning Vice President Sara Duterte. The key takeaway from the survey is clear: Filipinos want her to face the impeachment charges, stop politicking, and work cooperatively for the country’s benefit.
“Ang mensahe ng survey ay malinaw: Harapin ang kaso, tumigil sa pamumulitika, at makipagtulungan para sa ikabubuti ng bansa. ‘Yan ang inaasahan ng taumbayan sa isang Pangalawang Pangulo,” he said. Public Calls for Cooperation and Accountability
The survey revealed that 74 percent of Filipinos desire Vice President Duterte to collaborate with the government rather than oppose it. The deputy leader emphasized, “Hindi po ito panahon ng awayan. Gusto ng mamamayan ay magkaisa tayong lahat para sa Bagong Pilipinas.”
Moreover, 88 percent believe she should confront the impeachment allegations head-on to clear her name. He questioned, “Kung talagang walang kasalanan si VP Sara, bakit takot siyang harapin ang mga paratang?” This suggests that many Filipinos expect accountability and transparency.
Focus on Duties Over Political Battles
The data also showed that 59 percent want her to stop engaging in political disputes and concentrate on her responsibilities as Vice President. Additionally, 61 percent prefer that she focus on her own policies instead of criticizing others, while half of the respondents urge her to cease attacking the government and its programs.
“Kung may layunin siyang makakabuti, ipakita niya ito sa gawa, hindi sa pagbatikos. Hindi makatutulong ang sigawan. Ang kailangan ay solusyon,” he stressed, advocating for productive actions over loud criticism.
