Fire Incident in Taguig Claims Life and Injures Others
A fire broke out early morning on May 28 at a residence in Taguig City, tragically resulting in the death of a 15-year-old girl and injuries to several others. According to reports from local fire authorities, the blaze started around 7:27 a.m. at a home located at No. 1 Balimbing corner 8th Street in Barangay North Signal.
Emergency Response and Casualties
Firefighters quickly responded to the scene, raising the first alarm at 7:33 a.m. and successfully extinguishing the fire by 8:02 a.m. The fire injured Sheena Azarez, 32, who sustained burns on her elbow, forearm, thigh, and knee. Additionally, a 50-year-old woman fainted during the incident. Unfortunately, the 15-year-old girl could not be saved.
Impact on Residents and Property Damage
The fire affected three families, totaling 10 individuals living in the house. Property damage was estimated at approximately PHP 150,000. The response involved a total of 10 fire trucks, five water tankers, a rescue truck, and three ambulances, showcasing the scale of the emergency response.
