Fire Razed 11 Houses Displacing 15 Families in Pagadian City
In the early hours of Thursday, July 24, 2025, a fire razed 11 houses in Barangay San Jose, Pagadian City, displacing 15 families. The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Chief Richard Fabria shared that despite the narrow access to the area, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) team responded swiftly. Their quick action helped contain the fire and prevent further damage.

Those displaced, including renters and boarders, were temporarily sheltered at the old Barangay Hall of Barangay San Jose. Barangay officials promptly provided meals and food packs sourced from the City Social Welfare and Development Office to support the affected families.
According to the provincial DRRMO Chief Ronnie Villanueva, investigators from the BFP are still assessing the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage. The fire was declared under control by 5:45 a.m., and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
