Five Men Arrested Over Theft of Commuter’s Phone in Manila
Authorities swiftly arrested five men involved in the theft of a commuter’s phone in Manila, sources said. The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) reported that the incident unfolded near a gasoline station along Old Panaderos Street in Sta. Ana, Manila, around 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
The five suspects, ranging in age from 22 to 34, allegedly targeted a 53-year-old private nurse while she was riding a public utility bus on Taft Avenue in Malate, the police added. The victim promptly reported the crime to officials, prompting an immediate investigation.
Quick Police Action Leads to Arrests and Recovery
By 1:45 a.m. the following day, authorities had successfully apprehended all five suspects, local leaders noted. They also recovered the stolen phone along with two Honda Click motorcycles believed to have been used during the getaway. Before being taken into custody, the suspects underwent medical examinations at a nearby hospital.
The suspects now face charges of theft under Article 308 of the Revised Penal Code, according to police sources.

NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin encouraged the public to report crimes by dialing 911. He assured that the newly upgraded system offers swift and responsive police service to ensure public safety and swift justice.
