Five-Minute Police Response Revolutionizes Caraga Region
BUTUAN CITY – Achieving a five-minute police response in the Caraga region is now within reach, a leading police official announced Monday. This swift response time is part of ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and emergency management.
Police Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano, director of the Police Regional Office-Caraga (PRO-13), shared that the region has launched a mobile application integrating location-based technology. This innovation makes crime reporting simpler and accelerates police assistance.
“In the Caraga region, we have established a mobile application utilizing location-based technology for more accessible crime reporting and swift police assistance,” Abrahano said during a press conference that featured a live simulation.
AGAP Mobile App Speeds Police Assistance
The AGAP mobile application, officially introduced at the PRO-13 headquarters before the May 12 midterm elections, has already demonstrated its effectiveness. During the briefing, police used the app to respond to emergency calls in Butuan City and Surigao City.
Remarkably, officers arrived at the requested locations in under three minutes, well within the five-minute police response goal set by the Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Police Gen. Nicolas Torre III.
Improved Police Operations and Visibility
Abrahano also praised the new eight-hour, three-shift work schedule implemented in PRO-13. This system enhances police visibility, optimizes operational efficiency, and balances manpower distribution across all units.
“Through these strategic initiatives, PRO-13 remains resolute in its mission to protect and serve the people of the Caraga region,” local leaders noted.
The integration of technology and revamped work schedules exemplify the region’s commitment to faster police response and safer communities.
