Flight Cancellations at Tuguegarao Airport Disrupt Travel
Several flights at Tuguegarao Airport in Cagayan were canceled on Thursday, August 7, due to severe weather conditions, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reported. These flight cancellations affected hundreds of passengers, highlighting the impact of the ongoing low pressure area east of Northern Luzon.
According to CAAP, the severe weather prompted the cancellation of multiple flights, impacting a total of 561 passengers. Travelers faced disruptions as the low pressure area, located approximately 2,760 kilometers east of Northern Luzon, brought adverse flying conditions.

As of 10 a.m., the following flights to and from Tuguegarao Airport were canceled:
- Flight 5J 504 – 141 passengers affected
- Flight 5J 505 – 159 passengers affected
- Flight PR 2014 – 112 passengers affected
- Flight PR 2015 – 149 passengers affected
Moreover, CAAP announced the suspension of all scheduled General Aviation (GenAv) operations, including flights by WCC-SkyPasada and activities of local aviation training schools. These measures were taken to ensure safety amid unstable weather.
