Weather Forecast Explains Flight Cancellations Due to Bad Weather
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) provided a weather update at 5 a.m., explaining the cause of flight cancellations due to bad weather. A low-pressure area (LPA) combined with the southwest monsoon, locally known as the “habagat,” is bringing widespread rains across much of the country.
Parts of Luzon, especially Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Central Luzon, Metro Manila, Calabarzon (including Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon), and Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan) are expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall due to the LPA, officials reported.
Meanwhile, the “habagat” is forecasted to bring rains to Palawan as well as the Visayas and Mindanao regions. These weather disturbances are the primary reason for the flight cancellations due to bad weather, sources explained.
