Former 4Ps Beneficiaries Shine in Nursing Licensure Exam
Four former Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries have proudly secured top spots in the May 2025 Nursing Licensure Exam. This remarkable achievement highlights the success of the program in helping Filipino youth reach their full potential.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) recently lauded Jamela Irish Casis from Aguilar, Pangasinan, Kyla Mae Narciza from Santo Domingo, Nueva Ecija, Samantha Joy Eco Cruz from Lingayen, Pangasinan, and Alyna Kyla See from Dagupan City, Pangasinan. Casis placed sixth, Narciza and Cruz tied for seventh, and See ranked eighth in the exam.
Speaking on the accomplishment, an official spokesperson said, “The success of our former 4Ps monitored children has proven that the program is not just about assistance, but a strong bridge to success in life. Through 4Ps, we are investing in the youth.”
4Ps Program: Building Bridges to Success
Since its launch in 2008 and its institutionalization in 2019 through Republic Act No. 11310, the 4Ps program provides conditional cash transfers to over four million Filipino households. Its goal is to keep children in school while ensuring they receive essential health and nutrition support.
The program’s impact extends beyond this recent nursing exam. Earlier this year, other former 4Ps beneficiaries also excelled in various licensure tests. These include Sheila Jane Doles, who ranked fifth in the Midwives Licensure Exam, Mustafa Rescober Ali, who placed second in Electrical Engineering, and Jayvee Fuentebella, who topped the Electronics Technician Licensure Exam.
DSWD’s Commitment to Poverty Alleviation
According to community leaders familiar with the matter, the Department of Social Welfare and Development remains dedicated to improving and innovating its programs. Their aim is to break the cycle of poverty and provide Filipinos with real opportunities for growth.
The spokesperson added, “Each success story serves as an inspiration to our beneficiaries, the government, and our staff who continue to strive for real change.” They further reassured the public that efforts to uplift Filipino living standards will continue unabated.
This series of achievements demonstrates how targeted social programs can empower individuals and contribute to national development. It also highlights the importance of sustained support for education and health to shape a brighter future for the youth.
